Scoring explained
Last updated October 30, 2026
Every stat in a circled game is worth points. The weights below are what a new league starts with; your commissioner can change them under League rules.
The default points
- Point: +1
- Rebound: +1.2
- Offensive rebound, extra: +0.3
- Assist: +2
- Steal: +4
- Block: +4
- Turnover: −2
- Missed field goal: −1
- Made free throw, extra: −0.25
- Missed free throw: −0.75
- Double-double: +1.5
- Triple-double (instead): +3
Why misses cost a point
Most fantasy scoring adds points for what a player makes and ignores what he misses, so a player who takes 30 shots looks great even on a bad night. Here every missed shot costs a point, so shots have a price. A player has to make enough of them to come out ahead.
That matters more when one game decides a slot. A cold shooting night is a real risk for a volume scorer, and a player who scores efficiently and fills the box score is a steadier circle.
Who this scoring favors
- Big men who score close to the rim and rebound.
- Guards who create assists without many turnovers.
- Players who add steals and blocks, which are worth more than a point.
Volume three-point shooters can still win a week, but their bad nights cost more than in other formats.
Other presets and options
Commissioners can switch to a familiar preset (ESPN, Yahoo, DraftKings, Game Score and more) or set their own weights. They can also score plus-minus, or add a team-win bonus: extra points for a player who plays in a game his team wins, added once it is final. Projections in the app always use your league’s own scoring.
