About Circled Hoops
Last updated October 30, 2026
Circled Hoops is a free weekly fantasy basketball game for leagues of friends, on the web and on iPhone.
What Circled Hoops is
Each week you set eight starters and circle one of each player’s games, and only the circled games count. Leagues draft, trade, work the waiver wire, chat, and play for a playoff bracket at the end of the season. A bot can play any team without a manager, so a league can start with just a few friends. The full rules are on How to play, and the guides cover strategy.
Why one game
In most weekly fantasy leagues, the team whose players have the most games that week usually wins, and the best tactic is to add whoever plays tonight, every night. Circling one game per player takes the schedule out of the result. What decides a week is reading basketball: which night a player is likely to have his best game.
Who runs it
Circled Hoops is made and run by Purplelink LLC, a small software company in Georgia. The players’ community lives on Discord, where we post updates and take suggestions. To reach us directly, see Contact.
How it is paid for
Every feature is free for every league. The servers are paid for by:
- one small banner ad in the iPhone app, which an optional Ad-free subscription ($0.99 a month) removes;
- a Google ad on a few public pages of the website, never on a screen where you set a lineup or make a pick;
- a few sponsor links, always marked Sponsored, and an optional tip.
The ads on the website are non-personalized: they are not chosen from your activity. The Privacy Policy lists every company that helps run the service.
What we don’t do
- No betting, entry fees or prizes. No money changes hands in a league.
- No sportsbook, daily fantasy or prediction-market advertisers.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
Circled Hoops is an independent game. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the NBA or any of its teams.
